When do I need to start providing a pension?
The Staging Date is a date allocated to every employer which defines the date on which they must “autoenrol” all qualifying employees in a pension scheme, deduct pension contributions and pay the employee’s contribution and the associated employer’s contribution to the pension provider (not HMRC). It is also the date from which any employee who does not qualify for auto-enrolment may request to join a pension scheme. The Pension Regulator may have already written to you with this date.
